If grief is a psychiatric disorder, what's next? Inability to Pay the Rent Disorder? Obnoxious Personality Disorder? WHY are people so gullable as to believe that every ordinary problem in living is a psychiatric crisis needing "expert" management and Prozac?

- The one thing that ticks me off the most about WIC and Food Stamps and such is that parents who cannot care for kids worth a crap are still caring for kids, and they're awful parents.

- So should all countries. But I do have to point out that there really are some people who choose the homeless lifestyle, and I have actually met some, not just on the street but when I was in rehab. They do this even in colder climates.

- Matriarchy means more than just saying children belong to the mother or even a husband living elsewhere and just visiting. (My husband and I have often done the latter but we don't have a "matriarchal marriage", whatever that might be. We're both people who cherish our individual privacy, that's all.
